I was born here, in Logan County, and grew up on a grain and livestock farm. I attended college at the University of Illinois for my undergraduate degree in animal science and then again for veterinary school. I graduated from the University of Illinois Veterinary School with honors in 1988.
Upon graduation, I returned to the area and started working at Greenhaven Animal Clinic, where I had worked as an intern during the summers and school breaks. I have continued my education over the years with numerous seminars and conferences, also graduation from the Executive Veterinary Program at the University of Illinois. I strive to practice the highest quality veterinary medicine available.
I was lucky enough to meet my wife, Kay, shortly after graduation. We were married in May 1990, and we have been blessed with three wonderful boys: Michael, a recent PharmD graduate from St Louis College of Pharmacy; Logan who will graduate this fall from the University of Illinois in chemical engineering; and William, a junior at the University of Illinois.
In my "spare" time, I enjoy being outdoors hunting, fishing, or working landscaping. We also enjoy traveling and seeing different parts of the United States.
I have been a member of the Greenhaven Animal Clinic team since 2003. I am a graduate of the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. My professional interests include equine dental care, lameness, and reproduction, and I have pursued continuing education in these areas. I enjoy the benefits and challenges of a mixed animal practice in a small town setting.
I am married to Dr. Karren and we have three boys. We share our home with home with 1 dog, Truman; 2 cats Jose, and Fiddles a 3 legged wonder; 2 horses, Martha and Gideon, and 2 ponies. My personal interests include American history, genealogy, and bow hunting.
I realized early on that I wanted to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. In the fourth grade, we were asked the question, "Where will you be when you are 25?" I answered, "In veterinary school!"
I graduated from the University of Illinois in 2002, and joined the Greenhaven family in 2003. My interests include internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, and integrative medicine using conventional and nonconventional approaches to helping animals heal. I recently passed the testing for certification in veterinary acupuncture, and I enjoy using this modality to bring balance to our patients. I am also involved with Pets Without Parents and Operation S.A.F.E., rescue organizations that work to better the lives of animals in central Illinois.
I enjoy spending time with my family–my husband, Dr. George, and our three young boys. Our family also includes a menagerie of animals, our rambunctious dog Truman, three sweet kitties, four well fed horses, and a mix of ducks, and chickens. I also enjoy creating handmade jewelry, gardening, and reading whenever I have a little extra time.
I am a 2007 graduate from the University of Illinois, College of Veterinary Medicine and have been in general practice since that time. I grew up in rural Emden, Illinois.
Before joining the Greenhaven team as an Associate Veterinarian in October of 2013, I began working at Greenhaven in high school as an assistant. From there I went on to college to study veterinary medicine. Before Greenhaven I have worked in a mixed practice in western Illinois and a small animal practice in southern Illinois. My professional interests include small animal internal medicine and large animal herd health.
I am married to my beautiful wife, Elizabeth, and have two young daughters. My pets include Chief, a black lab who thinks he is human and Suzy, a rambunctious yellow lab with no manners. With my little remaining free time I enjoy fishing, playing basketball, gardening and hunting. I am excited to return to Central Illinois and look forward to serving our clients.
I am a 2013 Graduate of the University of Illinois, College of veterinary medicine. Before Veterinary school, I attended the University of Illinois for my undergraduate degree in animal science and graduated high school from Illini Central in Mason City.
I joined the Greenhaven team as an associate veterinarian in July of 2014, but before that I had worked as a veterinary assistant and intern at Greenhaven through college and veterinary school. My veterinary interests include small animal orthopedic and soft tissue surgery and internal medicine, as well as large animal herd health. I enjoy working in a mixed practice environment and I look forward to the day to day surprises this atmosphere brings.
My husband, John, and I both grew up in Mason County and were married in 2011. At home we have a son, Kaleb, and a rambunctious English pointer named "Oskee." In my spare time you can find me cooking, baking, spending time outside or with family. I am excited to be a part of the Greenhaven team and look forward to meeting you.
I joined the Greenhaven team in May 2015 as an associate but worked here as an assistant in the summers. I attended Oklahoma State University for my undergraduate degree in animal science and continued there for my veterinary degree finishing in 2015. My interests include surgery on any size animal and bovine reproduction. I enjoy all the surprises and challenges in mixed animal practice!
I grew up in Petersburg on a small livestock farm raising Angus cattle and showing them all across the country. I was lucky enough to marry my husband, Garrett, shortly after graduation and move back to central Illinois. We have one hardworking Border Collie named Riley and look forward to our new addition coming in November 2016! In my spare time, I enjoy working in the show barn with my husband, running, baking and spending time with my family.
My 30th year at Greenhaven Animal Clinic will be in 2016. I have had the pleasure of watching Greenhaven from from a single doctor practice to the multi-doctor practice it is today. Every day is different and exciting. I enjoy my daily interactions with our clients and their pets and have made many good friends over the years.
I earned a bachelor of science in agriculture and animal science at the University of Illinois. My husband Jeff and I have two married sons and three grandchildren. In our spare time we enjoy traveling.
I was born and raised in this area and have worked at Greenhaven for 18 years. My job includes medical record monitoring, inventory ordering for all three clinics, monitoring inventory as much as possible, as well has helping day-to-day operations run smoothly. I look forward to seeing old and new patients and their owners. I have two grown children and three grandchildren. Some of my favorite pastimes are going to car races, concerts, and spending time with family and friends.
I joined the Greenhaven staff in 2002, after graduating from the Parkland College Veterinary Technician Program. After working full time for many years, I maintain a part time schedule now to allow time for my growing family. I transition between both the small and large animal sides for the clinic. When I am not at work, I enjoy cooking, gardening, refinishing furniture, and spending time with friends and family.
I am a CVT at Greenhaven and joined the team in the fall of 2013. I graduated from Medaille College’s veterinary technician program in Buffalo, NY in 2003. When not at work I am at home taking care of my 2 dogs, Emma & Ella May, and 2 cats, Theo & Winnie. In my spare time I enjoy a variety of activities such as hiking, camping, gardening and spending time with my family and friends.
I first joined Greenhaven’s staff as a veterinary assistant in 2011. Then, in 2014 I graduated from Parkland College in Champaign and became licensed, joining Greenhaven as a CVT and working full time. I live in Armington with my husband, Austin, as well as our dog, Willie, and cat, Tiger. When I am not working I enjoy baking, gardening, and helping out on the family farm.
I joined the Greenhaven team as a full-time CVT in May of 2015, but worked as an intern while in Parkland’s Veterinary Technician Program. I live in Metamora with my wonderful husband (Josh) and 2 furry children Cedar (Fox Red Labrador) and Jockamo (Flame Point Siamese). In my spare time I enjoy being outdoors, gardening and spending time with my family and friends.
I have been working as a large animal assistant at Greenhaven Animal Clinic since 2007. Working with the large animals, I have learned a lot from the doctors and the staff. Outside of work, I enjoy a variety of activities, such as trail riding, working with my own animals, and hanging out with friends.
I have been a receptionist at Greenhaven since October 2014. I live on a farm with my family and am one of ten kids. Also, outside of work I enjoy riding horses, gardening (homestead in general), raising Boer goats, and spending time with my family.
I have worked at Greenhaven Animal Clinic since February 2016 as a receptionist, but am currently attending CVT school online at Penn Foster. I love animals of all kinds! I have a 1.5 year old Pitbull named Diesel, and a 6mo German Shepherd named Diamond. Outside of work, I love to go shopping and hang out with friends and family. I look forward to meeting your furry children.
I have been at Greenhaven since 2009 after starting my senior year of high school. I love everything outdoors and love to travel. I have several animals, including: Emmi (yellow lab), Jackson (Pitt), Charlotte (cat), and Cinna (Chinchilla).
